Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv is competent for:
||Legal residents of Ukraine who are not Ukrainian citizens (for a minimum
intended stay of at least 6 months)
The Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine will not issue visa to Ukrainian citizens who
live permanently outside Ukraine. Please contact the Embassy of Sweden in your
country of residence.
Short Term Visas:
The visa applications are to be submitted at the Swedish Visa Application Centre in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Donetskand Kharkiv.
Visa Application Centre will accept Short Term applications only. The applications must be submitted either by the applicant in person or by representative on behalf of applicant. i.e. should not be sent by post. All applications collected by the Visa Application Centre will be assessed by the Embassy of Sweden, located in Kyiv.

Long Term Visas:
If you are planning a longer stay (more than 3 months) in Sweden, you need to
apply for a Long Term Visa.
Applications with Long Term (Residence and Work Permit) visas have to be submitted directly at the Embassy of Sweden during regular working hours upon prior appointment only.

Passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay in
Sweden and there should be at least two empty pages available in the passport
for visa and/or permit sticker. A new passport must be obtained before
submission of your application, if the said conditions are not met.
Passport cannot be valid for more than 10 years.
Prolonged passports will not be accepted.
All applications collected by the Visa Application Centre will be sent to the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv for assessment and resolution. Visa Application Centre staff has no say in the visa decisions taken by the Embassy.
Visa Category chosen by an applicant must be based on the purpose of travel to
Sweden and the decision must be made by the applicant themselves – Visa
Application Centre staff will not be able to assist you in taking this
In case of any questions regarding visa application the Embassy may require the
additional interview with the applicant.
Embassy of Sweden, Kyiv will return processed passports to the Visa Application Centre in Kyiv. Applicants have a choice to decide on how they would like to collect their passports and / or documents, i.e. by subscribing for a Courier Services at the time of application submission or by collecting it from the Visa Application Centre in Kyiv, Lviv ,Odessa , Donetsk and Kharkiv.
In order to receive a SCHENGEN-visa from the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv your main destination must be SWEDEN or the longest part of your stay must be within Sweden. If you plan to visit several Schengen countries and the duration of the stay in those countries are the same, the first entry must be through Sweden.
Application Processing Time:
Usual application processing time is 10 calendar days excluding the day of documents' submission. A visa application should be submitted at least 10 calendar days before the intended visit and cannot be submitted earlier than three months before the intended date of travel.
There is also an option to submit a Short Term visa application directly to the Embassy of Sweden, Kyiv. In this case an appointment at the Embassy is required. You can schedule an appointment
online or by calling the Call Centre on the phone number (+38) 044 594 96 23 or (+38) 050 117 90 51. This service is free of charge. The visa processing time for these applications is approximately 10 calendar days.
